風景預言書 Landscape Prophecy－洪天宇的相簿

神話中特洛伊（Troy）的公主卡珊德拉（Cassandra）能精準預知未來，不幸的是她説的話卻沒有人會相信。她預見帕里斯和海倫結合會帶來戰争，也説出了木馬內有一支即將終結特洛伊的軍隊，但她的話語只引來一陣訕笑，最終流著眼淚看著親人故土徹底毀滅，這是怎樣的一種悲傷？
從小這則神話故事便深深撼動我的心靈至今未減分毫。長期創作風景畫的過程中，我經常不經意地詢問自己，如何讓一幅畫化為一則卡珊德拉的預言？因為我總是無法滿足於畫面僅僅是形色質美好的對位安排，也無法自娛於唯美的點缐面形式變化；我希望透過風景畫能提昇心靈意識，從片斷中瞥見永恆，從局部中了解整體，從可見的表象穿透事物的核心，從森羅萬象察知萬物的本質……希望一幅風景畫便能達成對整體存在深情地注目，畫面如同預言一般，將未來帶至眼前…。
但如何能做到這一切？在無前例可循之下，我每畫一張作品猶如對未來一㳄又一次的探索，一步再一步的自我演化，不停前進，不斷追尋，儘管無人相信。

A Prophecy of Landscape

In Greek mythology, the Trojan princess Cassandra could accurately predict the future, yet she was cursed by that fact that nobody would believe a word of what she said. She predicted that Paris and Helen would bring war upon Troy, and that the wooden horse hid a Greek army that would ruin the city, yet whatever she said would only draw laughter and mocking from the people. What kind of sorrow did she have to endure, as she wept while seeing her family lead her homeland to destruction?

Ever since childhood, my soul has been strongly moved by this myth. Throughout my many years of painting landscapes, I have often asked myself this question: How could I transform a painting into a Cassandra-like prophecy? I have never been satisfied with the mere aesthetically pleasing placement of figures and color, nor could I find enjoyment with simply varying lines and shapes to create an eye-pleasing scene. I hope to use scenic paintings to raise an awareness of the soul, to see “a world in a grain of sand”, “eternity in an hour”, the essence from the superficial, the true nature of things from all its myriad objects. I hope a simple landscape painting can arrive at a deep, passionate gaze into the totality of existence, bringing the future before one’s eyes as if in a prophecy.

But how could I achieve this? With no precedents to follow, every one of my paintings was like an exploration into the future, one after another; with each step I constantly evolved and pushed forward in seeking what I wanted to find, even if nobody believed in me.
