德士古 TEXACO
自1972年開始，德士古石油公司便從厄瓜多爾的熱帶雨林中成功的汲出第一滴石油。爾後持續東鑽西挖佈下大範圍的輸油管線，一路穿越印地斯山脈直達海邊。德士古公司將叢林中的石油基地命名為「Lago Agrio」意即「酸湖 」。如今看來酸湖這個名字用來形容當地辛酸的生活真是貼切，德士古石油公司留下的土地、河流、地下水污染，讓當地居民籠罩在癌症、腹痛、皮膚起泡、頭痛的死亡陰影中。這是部落史上族人的傷痛，第一次無法由巫師撫慰。
在資本主義體系鼓舞大家賺錢第一的價值觀裡，道德、環保、公益，都成了沈重無比的包袱。企業競爭無比殘酷，若不把獲利擺第一轉而關心他人，很快地就會落於人後，只能看著沒有道德包袱的人，踩著你的頭頂揚長高歌而去。一旦加入這種賽局，企業要存活壯大，除了拼命擴張利潤，還有選擇餘地嗎？因此高唱關心環保，捐點小錢做些慈善公益事業，已經是值得大書特書的高貴企業情操了，面對這樣的世界不玩行嗎？金錢囚錮了一切，無人，無人能獲得緩刑。
TEXACO
Since 1972, the Texaco Petroleum Company successfully draw the first drop of petroleum oil in the rainforest of Ecuador, it has been dug around and deployed a large-scale pipeline all the way penetrating the Andes till the sea coasts. TEXACO names the petroleum base inside forests as “Lago Agrio,” meaning “a sour lake.” Now the name of sour lake is such perfect word to precisely describe the tough life there. The pollution in land, river and underground waters left by TEXACO leads local residents suffered from the death threaten of cancers, unknown abdominal aching, blistering skin and headache. This is the pain for all villagers in the history of tribe that for the first cannot be consoled by shaman.
In the value that the Capitalism encourages people taking making money as the first priority, morals, environmental protection, and public domain become heavy burden. The competence among corporations is so cruel and fierce that if they don’t make profit first and turn to care for others, soon they could be far behind their matches. They could only watch those who have no moral burden and restrain step over their head and sing the victory song. Once joining such game, the corporations have to survive and grow, is there any choice other than indulging for expansion and profits? Therefore, singing aloud the caring of environmental protection and making small amount of donation for charity are already very privileged merit worthy of recording in length. What else we could do in addition to join such game? Money imprisons everything. No one. No one could receive probation.
