What We Killed
Even though hunting for food and will to survive are neutral, somehow human beings’ highly-matured consciousness cannot ignore the cruelness. We think that what human beings kill are merely pig, sheep, cow, chicken, duck and fish. If you are willing to calm down a little bit to feel the moment when a heart stops bumping, touch the flesh upon the body temperature cooling down, smell the blood, and listen to the last sign before the breath stops, you will realize what human beings kill is themselves, their compassion, their awe to life, and their virginity. The Eden where human beings in young childhood play with all living creatures equally is thus disintegrated and decomposed. However, we don’t have chances to feel this because what appears in front of us is either neatly-cut meat or savory cuisine. The only concern we have is the price. Who really cares about life?
