「這是交換，不是賺到！」朋友對我喜孜孜的表情潑了一盆冷水，「你用電影票的加價購買到六折的飲料和爆米花，感覺上好像賺很大，但是坐在椅子上兩個小時不動，同時又吞進八、九百卡路里，這些熱量要走兩三個小時才能消耗掉，你不覺得這是拿健康在做交換嗎？」「是哦！那妳幫我吃。」
如果連買爆米花都有利害交換，那買任何東西恐怕都避不開利害的糾纏。例如到現代超市買牛肉帶給我們明顯的好處是：高效率物流帶來低價商品，購物環境整潔舒適，肉品冷藏處理包裝美觀無腥味，價格種類排列有序，量化視覺衝擊選擇多樣化，自助式取貨挑到滿意再買，有手推車方便一次購足甚至送貨到家，購物兼娛樂休閒。然而，我們不易察覺的是：成功超市形成的市場壟斷，肉品產地破壞環境消費者無從感受，大財團支持下的跨國連鎖供應鏈讓全球各地自營商無力抗衡，廉價肉品創造大量消費犠牲環境及個人健康，疏離人與牛隻從成長到屠宰的過程，讓肉食者對生命冷漠自私。
任何事物都有多重意義，而且常常相互矛盾，再好的藥物都有副作用。還是老子比較睿智，他說：「禍兮福之所倚，福兮禍之所伏。」福禍利害原本就是連體嬰，不過人偏偏就是愛美好、利益、良善。政客、商品、科技之所以令人徬徨疏離，隔一陣子便會失望反感，主要就是大家都在好處放在亮處大聲嚷嚷，壞處儘量隱藏消音，直到我們不得不面對天使臉上的魔鬼笑容。

“This is trading, not saving your money!” My friend discouraged me at my joyful look. “You buy drinks and pop corns at discount of 60% off with the purchase with purchase promotion from movie ticket. It seems to save a lot. But think about this: you have to sit there for two hours while swallow about 800 to 900 calories. It would take you another two to three hours of walking to digest and burn. Don’t you think it is a trading with your health?” “Well, then you could help me out. Have them for me.”
If there is trading of interest even just buying a pop corn, then perhaps we cannot really break away from such trading when we make a purchase. For example, the apparent benefits that we go buy beef at modern supermarket include: high efficient logistic bringing low-price goods, the convenient and net shopping environment, frozen meat products in visually pleasant package without smell, products sorting by price and category orderly, massive visual stimulation with diverse choices, open shelf display for maximum content of selecting, shopping cart providing the convenience of one-shop for all and home-delivery service as well, and shopping functioning as entertainment and recreation. However, what we are clearly aware are : the monopoly of market by the success of supermarket chain stores, the fact that the place of meat production suffers from environmental damage and consumers cannot really feel it, the international supply chain supported by large syndicates makes self-operative suppliers around the world out of resistance and fighting back, low-price meat products creates quantity of consumption that sacrifice the environment and individual health as well, the process from the growth of cows to the slaughtering is isolated from mankind so that many meat-eaters are prone to be selfish and aloof toward life.
Things always have multi-meanings and sometimes those meanings are contradictory against each other. No matter how effective the medicine is, there is always side-effect for it. Lou-tzu is probably the best wise man. He said: “Danger is the next neighbor to security.” Danger and security, misfortune and blessing, are all two-folded. Nevertheless mankind strongly prefers to beauty, benefit, and good-will. The reason that politicians, commodities and technologies sometimes make people anxious and detached and for while people turns against them, is mainly because that people tend to aggressively highlight and promote the beneficial side while try to hide and cover up shortcomings till we are forced to face the devil smile on angel’s face.
