山顏五衰

從前從前有一個地方，鹿安閒地打嗝，蟒蛇慵懶地垂掛，彌猴爬上跳下，雲豹無聲地巡弋，魚蝦共享青苔大餐，昆蟲忙著吸蜜錯過集體婚禮，樹葉爭奪天空不給鄰居一絲空隙。

人來了，帶著天火鋼刃，能烤的烤焦，能殺的殺光，能擄的擄走。一吋一吋地換上會長錢的東西，人滿意的笑了。從天空到地面，從深海到地底，這一切都是他的，看得到、聽得到、聞得到、嘗得到，通通是他的。呵！呵！有比這更美好的嗎？呵！呵！

我們規定水流的方向，我們決定土壤的酸鹼，我們判決樹木存活的年限，我們對昆蟲說：「你是益蟲，很好！你是害蟲，去死。」我們不給鳥留生蛋的地方，我們不留一條清溪給魚蝦，我們改變了天空的顏色。因為…我是主宰一切的萬物之靈、是進化的極致、是超強的物種。我們終於創造了全新的風景─人的風景。

不過山變得很麻煩，像個愛哭愛鬧的小孩，時而山崩、時而地裂，時而乾旱、時而暴雨，沃土盡失、無泉可汲。再加上三不五十的土石亂流，唉！除了綁起來叫他乖乖坐好還能怎麼樣？

看！我們偉大的建設，終於徹底馴服自然了。土不再跑，水不再流，連天空也嚇得不敢出聲了。很久很久以後，有一群人拖著飢餓的身軀，張著乾澀的嘴唇，望著山說：「這裡沒什麼，我們再找找看吧！或許遙遠的天空還有一個地球，那裡面會有一座青山。」

The Decay of Mountains

Long time ago, there used to be a place where deer burps contently, python lazily hangs from trees, macaques jump up and down, clouded leopard silently patrols, fishes and shrimps share together a moss feast, insects are so busy to suck nectar that they miss collective wedding, and tree leaves fight with each other to grow upwards to the sky.

Then man comes. He brings jet fire and iron blaze. He burns down, kills, and captures whatever he can. Inch by inch, he replaces things would earn moneys onto this land. Man laughs happily. From sky to earth, from deep-sea to underground, everything belongs to him. Whatever could be seen, heard, smelled and tasted is all his. Ha! Ha! Is anything better than this? Ha! Ha!

We decide the direction of water, the potential of hydrogen in soil, and the survival years of forests. We say to insects: “Ok, you are beneficial insect, good! You, you are bad one. Go to the hell!” We leave nowhere for birds to hatch eggs and no clear creeks for fishes and shrimps. We even change the color of sky. All of those are because…we as the lords of creation dominating everything, is the excellence of evolution and one of the superpower species. We finally create a brand new landscape – human beings’ landscape.

Mountain becomes very troublesome. It is like a crying child. Sometimes there is either landslide or earthquake. Sometimes it is either a drought or a rainstorm. There is no more fertile soil and no longer spring water available. There are also mudflows all the time. Alas, other than ting it up and making it sit up well, what else could we do?

Look! Our grand development at last totally domesticates the Nature. Land never slides again, water no longer drifts, and even the sky is so scared to mute. Long after, a group of people with starving bodies and dried lips look the mountain and say: “There is nothing left here. Let’s find another place. Maybe by the remote skyline, there would be another earth. Inside there would be a green mountain.”
