水泥廠
大道廢，有仁義。智慧出，有大偽─ 老子。

在舞台上最仁慈的天使與窮凶極惡的魔王都能交由同ㄧ個人來扮演。在真實世界裡，最漂亮的口號與最齷齰的行為往往同時登台。我們在面對環境生態上也喜歡操弄這種矛盾手法。譬如，全面砍伐檜木叫「整理枯倒木」；在破壞原生邊坡後用綠油漆塗在水泥駁坎上叫「環境綠化」；把原生植物砍光領走巨額補助款種上單一樹種叫「造林」；把溪谷用平板的水泥牆封死叫「野溪整治」。如果搬出「保護人民生命財產安全」或「創造國家經濟發展」的鍍金招牌就表示這件集體貪污是被老天允許的，不必再環境評估了，利益分配好就可以動手。
人嘴巴說一套，雙手進行另一套一點都不困難，既不會認知失調，也不至於人格分裂。ㄧ般生物只須略懂偽裝便能謀生，人卻悲哀到如果不會編漂亮言詞，不懂得撒下漫天謊言，便混不到一口像樣的飯吃，看吧！把大地糟蹋得無以復加的水泥廠，竟然可以獲官方頒予「環保特優獎」！
唉！人可以唬弄別人，只需要一點點自我催眠或自我暗示，甚至連自己也能騙過去，只可惜土地公不肯吃我們這一套。

泉還會再湧嗎？
鹿還會再遊走嗎？
還會有巨木成林嗎？

Cement Plant

On the stage, it is possible that the most merciful angel and the fiercest monster could be played by the same person. In the reality world, the finest words and the direst behavior often stay on the same stage. When dealing with environment and eco-system issues, we like to manipulate with such discrepant way. For example, overly hewing Chinese cypress timbers is “cleaning out the dead and fell woods;” after destroying the primitive slope, painting the green paint onto the cement revetment is “environmental green project;” cut off all primitive plants and then take huge block grant away for replanting single type of tree is “forestation;” sealing the valley with flat cement walls is “renovation of wild creek.” When presenting with the gilded plates stating “protecting safety of people’s life and properties” and “generating economic development for the country,” it refers to that such collective corruption is permitted by Heaven and no need for environmental evaluation. Upon the allotment of interest done, it could take into action immediately.

Human beings are good at the practice that saying one thing and doing another. We won’t suffer from cognitive dissonance or spilt personality for this practice. Generally, most creatures require not much understanding of camouflage for survival. Human beings are different. Without making up fine words and big lies, they could not make a decent life. Look, a cement plant which ruins the ground so badly receives “excellence of environmental protection award” from the government!

Alas! Only with some autohypnosis or autosuggestion, one not only could manipulate with others but also lie to himself. Unfortunately our village god cannot buy it.

Will spring water gush again?
Will deer reeve again?
Will there giant trees make a forest one more time?
