這一代的青少年實在沒什麼機會爬樹、追蜻蜓、捕青蛙，或是在泥地裡打滾。清澈的溪水，芳香的林蔭，絢爛的雲靄，鮮少流進他們的心扉。光是電視、電腦、書本便佔據了大半的童年歲月，每天只能在通電的水泥盒內上上下下，進進出岀。大自然變得陌生又遙遠，從他們手指碰到泥土或生物便立即洗手可以看出跟自然是何等疏離。即使外出旅遊也不敢跨出人工設施之外，文明已將他徹底收買，只有包裹在金屬、水泥、玻璃、塑膠和人群裡才有安全感。因此當他站在自然公園裡打呵欠說：「這裡好無聊哦！」一點也不令人意外。
自然雖是孕育生命的聖地，但人創造的世界卻對人更有吸引力，名牌、汽車、流行資訊、即時影像、抽象數字、投資報酬率……，早已讓人應接不暇。自然淪為滿足科技利用之下的外在資源，她已被完全物化或商品化，連絲毫的神性也覓不著，誰還記得大自然是生命之母？只剩少數詩人或哲人偶而還端詳一下她的容顏，其他的人除了重大天災的場合外，早已忘記自己是活在大自然中。
長久以來我們被教導自然物只要被人佔用，有本事拿走便是你的。如果有人先佔，只要力氣勝過他，智巧在他之上，還是可以理直氣壯地奪走。在自然過度開發遭受污染之後，我們不得不告訴下一代，自然是骯髒的，含有各種危險物質，最好透過高科技人工檢測處理後再接觸，創造更純粹的人工環境，開發更多自然資源才是進步之道。目前已經很難看到人低頭趴在地上直接飲用河水，再下去可以預見每個人出門都要塗防曬油、穿防護衣，接著恐怕得背上氧氣筒了，人工文明所享用的每一道美味，背後都淌著自然的血。
我們到底教了什麼？學了什麼？在不知不覺中母親竟成了敵人，樂園變為監獄，這份成就人還沾沾自喜，欲罷不能！唉！

Academic Building
Teenagers at this generation rarely have chances to climb over a tree, chase dragon flies, catch frogs, or tumble in mud. Clean stream water, aromatic forest shed, splendor clouds hardly reach into their mind. TV, computers and textbooks occupy most of days in childhood. Everyday they could get on and off, in and out from the electrified cement boxes. The Nature becomes so strange and remote. We could see how distant they are from the Nature by seeing that as soon as their fingers touch soil or other creatures, they go washing their hands right away. Even they go for outing they dare not go across out of artificial facilities at all. The civilization already buys them up and they only gain a sense of security by wrapping inside metals, cements, glass, plastics and crowds. So it is not surprising at all when they stand in a natural park, yawn and said: “It is so boring here!”

The Nature is the holy land bears life. The world created by men provides more attraction toward people. Big brands, expensive cars, fashion information, on-time images, abstractive figures, capital intensive ratio…already make people too busy to properly response to it. The Nature becomes an outer resource in order to satisfying the utilization of technologies. She is totally materialized or commercialized. There is no divinity left. Who will remember the Nature is the mother of life? Only few poets or philosophers occasionally take a look at her while others long forget that they live in the Nature except in the occasions of serious natural disaster.

For long time, we have been taught that objects at the Nature are available for occupancy. You could take it away so long as you are of capacity. If there were someone else already occupied, you still could have fought your way out very rightful and self-confidently with the condition that you are stronger and smarter than him. After the Nature has been overly developed and severely polluted, we are forced to advise our next generation that the Nature is very dirty and contains all kinds of dangerous and toxicant materials. They’d better apply high technically artificial inspection and process before they touch them. Creating a purer artificial environment as well as developing more natural resources is the doctrine of progress. Nowadays we hardly see people lie down to drink from river directly. What we could foresee is that everyone will apply suntan lotion and wear protective clothing for going out. Then perhaps we would carry oxygen cylinders. Each delicious dish enjoyed by the artificial civilization drips the blood of the Nature behind.

What have we taught and learned? Unconsciously our mother becomes enemy and the paradise becomes a prison. Human beings are so self-satisfied with such achievements and cannot refrain from continuing this. Alas!
